Negotiations with Iran on Saturday in Islamabad/ Trump sends JD Vance, Kushner

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said the US is sending a negotiating team, led by Vice President JD Vance, to Pakistan for talks.

"I can announce that the president is sending his negotiating team, led by United States Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Witkoff and Mr. Kushner to Islamabad for talks this weekend," Leavitt said, referring to Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

"The first round of these talks will take place on Saturday morning local time and we know that we are looking forward to these face-to-face meetings."

She added that Iran has hinted that it will hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium.

"This is at the top of the priority list for the president and his negotiating team as they enter this next round of discussions," she said.
