Amid rising tensions, airspace in western Iran is closed

Iran's Civil Aviation Organization announced temporary restrictions in the western part of the country's airspace.

The decision comes at a time of rising tensions, with reports saying the United States is considering resuming military action against Iran, as diplomatic efforts continue.

According to the latest Notice of Air Missions (NOTAM), all passenger flights over the western part of Iran face severe restrictions.

Currently, only eight airports in Iran are allowed to operate, including Mehrabad Airport in Tehran and Imam Khomeini Airports, as well as airports in Isfahan and Yazd.

At these operational airports, flights are limited to daylight hours only (from sunrise to sunset), and airlines must obtain a new permit from the Civil Aviation Organization for each flight separately.

US and Israeli attacks on Iran began in late February. But a ceasefire brokered by Pakistan has been in place since April.

The parties are conducting diplomatic efforts to reach an agreement to end the war under the mediation of Pakistan.

However, US President Donald Trump has warned that attacks may resume if Tehran does not respond positively to the US peace proposal./REL
