Melania Trump's $40 million deal, how Amazon accepted its terms, beating the offer of...

Melania Trump has signed a $40 million deal with Amazon for a documentary about her life, directed by Brett Ratner, with appearances by her husband Donald and son Barron.
The film will follow her journey from Slovenia to the US and her transformation from… model to First Lady, as Melania demands full creative control and a share of the profits.
Amazon beat out Disney's $14 million bid. The film is the last link between Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Donald Trump.
The company announced in December that it plans to donate $1 million to the President-elect's inauguration fund and said it will also stream Trump's inauguration on its Prime Video service, a separate in-kind donation worth another $1 million.
The two of them had been at odds in the past. During his first term, Trump criticized Amazon and protested the Bezos-owned Washington Post's political coverage. But he has taken a softer tone recently as Amazon and other tech companies seek to improve their relationship with the incoming president.
The former and future first lady also released a self-titled memoir late last year.
The film also marks the first project Ratner has directed since he was accused of sexual harassment by several women, including actress Olivia Munn, in the early days of the #MeToo scandal in November 2017.
Fernando Sulichin, an Argentinian director, is the executive producer of the film, which began shooting in December.
The documentary began filming in December, a month after Donald Trump was re-elected, and is expected to be released in mid-2025, a few months after he takes office.
