"We have the right to defend ourselves"/ Qatar expels Iranian ambassador after missile attack

Qatar's Foreign Ministry says it "reserves its right to respond" to Iranian missile attacks on the industrial city of Ras Laffan.
In response, Qatar described the attack as a dangerous escalation and said it would not hesitate to defend its sovereignty.
The Gulf nation declared Iran's defense ministry representative at the Iranian embassy in Qatar persona non grata and ordered him to leave the country within 24 hours.
"Qatar reserves its right to respond in accordance with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations and the right of self-defense as guaranteed by international law, stressing that it will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to protect the sovereignty, security and safety of its citizens and residents. Despite Qatar's policy of distancing itself from this war since its inception and its commitment to avoid any escalation, the Iranian side continues to target it and neighboring countries in an irresponsible approach that undermines regional security and threatens international peace. The Iranian side continues its escalating policies that are pushing the region to the brink and drawing countries that are not parties to this crisis into the conflict zone," a statement said.
