Israel attacks Iran, Trump tells CNN: I gave them 60 days! The people I was negotiating with died!
US President Donald Trump said in an interview with CNN that the United States supports Israel and called the attack on Iran very successful. "Of course we support Israel and we have supported it like no one before," Trump said in a brief phone call. "Iran should have listened to me when I said... I don't know if you know, but I gave you a 60-day warning and today is the 61st day," the president added.
"Now they need to sit down at the negotiating table and reach an agreement before it's too late. It will be too late for them. The people I was negotiating with are dead, the hardliners," the president said, without specifying who he was referring to.
Asked if they died because of Israel's attack, Trump responded sarcastically: "They didn't die from the flu, they didn't die from Covid."
According to information received, the four main Iranian figures killed by the Israeli attack are: Major General Hossein Salami - Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Mohammad Bagheri - Chief of the Army General Staff, Ali Shamkhani - Former Senior National Security Advisor, and Amir Ali Hajizadeh - Commander of the IRGC Air Force.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated after the attack that the US had played no role, but also expressed support for Israel, which, according to him, acted in self-defense.
