Israel attacks Iran's largest gas field
Images posted on social media showed huge flames and thick clouds of smoke rising from the southern province of Bushehr, where the strategic field is located. According to Iran's Oil Ministry, the targets of the attacks were two major gas fields, including the South Pars complex - phase 14, which plays a key role in the country's energy supply.
The Fajr Jam gas refining company, another important facility in the same province, was also hit.
This is the first time that direct Israeli attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure have been reported, marking a dangerous escalation of tensions in the region. Currently, Iranian authorities are on high alert, while there is still no confirmed data on casualties or total material damage.
According to sources close to Iranian security agencies, the attack was carried out with small, advanced drones, which penetrated the airspace without being detected in time.
The situation in the region remains tense, while the international community calls on the parties to exercise restraint and avoid a wide-ranging conflict.
