Israel closes embassies worldwide after attacks on Iran

After launching extensive airstrikes on Iran, Israel has taken extraordinary measures by closing all of its embassies around the world and temporarily halting the provision of consular services.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry has urged Israeli citizens abroad to exercise maximum caution, avoid displaying Israeli or Jewish symbols in public spaces, and cooperate closely with local security authorities if they encounter suspicious or dangerous situations.
All Israelis have also been asked to fill out a form to report their location and condition, a practice that was also used after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, to enable coordination of the return of reservists and the organization of special flights.
Israeli authorities have not specified how long the closure of diplomatic missions will last. The move comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, raising global security concerns.
