Iran: We will soon submit a new proposal for the nuclear deal to the US

Tehran will soon present a new proposal to the United States to restart talks on the nuclear deal, describing the plan as reasonable and balanced. The news was confirmed on Monday by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei during a press conference in Tehran.

"Once it is completed, we will forward our proposal to the US through Oman's mediation. We call on the US side to seize this opportunity," he stated.

The Iranian official criticized the American proposal, saying it lacks essential elements and does not provide for the lifting of sanctions, a long-standing demand of Iran.

The head of Iran's parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, also criticized the American offer, calling it one-sided and unacceptable. According to him, "no sane person can accept an agreement that does not include the lifting of sanctions."

Talks between the US and Iran, brokered by Oman, have been ongoing since April and have stalled largely over the issue of uranium enrichment. The US wants Iran to completely halt the process, while Tehran insists it has the right to enrichment for peaceful purposes under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Tehran warns of disconnection with IAEA

Meanwhile, Iran has threatened to reduce its level of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) if a resolution critical of its nuclear program is adopted in Vienna today.

"If such a decision is adopted, the IAEA should not expect continued close cooperation with Iran," said Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency.

According to diplomatic sources, the US and European countries are preparing to propose a resolution that would also include the possibility of referring the issue to the UN Security Council.

Iran, which has long denied seeking to build nuclear weapons, insists its program is exclusively for peaceful purposes, while seeking the lifting of sanctions in exchange for guarantees.
