Attack on Qatar, Trump softens tone with Iran: Thank you for letting us know in

US President Donald Trump has downplayed the damage from Iran's missile attack on the Al Udeid air base in Qatar, describing it as weak and suggesting Washington will not respond.

"I am pleased to report that no Americans were injured and the damage is almost negligible. Most importantly, they have gotten it all out of their 'system' and hopefully there will be no more hate," Trump wrote in a social media post.

But what has been most impressive in the US president's reaction is the fact that he has thanked Iran, indicating that they had been notified of the attack.

For this reason, Trump's tones were soft.

"I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost and no one to be injured. Perhaps Iran can now move towards peace and harmony in the region, and I would gladly encourage Israel to do the same," Trump wrote.

President Trump announced that a total of 14 missiles were launched, 13 of which were shot down, while one was "released" because it was heading in a direction that did not pose a threat.

While in another post on Truth Social, Trump writes: Congratulations world, it's time for peace!

After the attack on Qatar, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also reacted, declaring that Iran "will not surrender in the face of anyone's violations."
