Suspicions/ 19-year-old missing for 1 month, police find a dead body

It is the worst nightmare for parents: their child disappears without a trace.
The S.* family from the north west of England had to endure just this horror. Jay S.*, 19, did not return to his hotel after a hike on the Spanish island of Tenerife on June 17. The teenager was missing for 1 month. Now a body has been found in the region where the young British man disappeared without a trace.
Jay's family has already been informed, reports a reporter from the Reuters news agency. Lancashire Police also confirmed contact with authorities in Tenerife: "We were informed today by the Guardia Civil that they have found the body of a man and that it is possibly Jay S.." An autopsy is still pending. He is believed to have died after falling down the steep and inaccessible area where his body was found. The results of the autopsy will tell if it was an accident.
The teenager disappeared when he got into a car with two unknown people after visiting a festival. The next day, his best friend, Lucy L.*, received the last message from the 19-year-old.
After the festival, he allegedly went to the two strangers' cottage, which is located in the remote national park. From there he walked home.
"You will never see your son again"
S.'s family immediately traveled to Tenerife after the terrible news to help authorities search for the boy. About 15 of his family members and friends landed in Tenerife.
Upon arriving in Spain, Jay S.'s mother suddenly received a disturbing message on Snapchat. The message, which appeared to come from her son's account, said: "Say goodbye to your son, you won't see him again, he owes me a lot of money."
The distraught mother told the Daily Mail that her son would not normally do "stupid things". She feared her son had been kidnapped. "I have a bad feeling. I believe he is being held against his will. He is not a stupid boy. He wouldn't have run through the mountains."
Various rescue teams and search groups launched the operation using search dogs as well. The police thoroughly searched the west of the island. Meanwhile, the rescue teams also checked the tourist resorts in the east of the island. This is based on a tip that Jay S. was seen in a taxi on the boardwalk in Playas de las Américas. But this was not confirmed.
Family members and friends accused the police of wasting valuable time. “If Jay had shown up, he would have called his mother or one of us. I know him well and he would not want us to be disturbed.
"Someone is trying to trick the police into thinking he's up there in the mountains," his girlfriend told the Daily Mail.
