Kills Albanian ex-wife/ Aggressor Nikollaq Hudhra: I did what I had to do

A 45-year-old Albanian woman was stabbed to death on the street in the Italian city of Tolentino (in the province of Macerata) by her ex-husband, who attacked her while she was on her way to work.
After the crime, the man is said to have sat on a bench waiting for the police. According to reports, the victim is Albanian Gentiana Hudhra, 45, a mother of adult children aged 21 and 23. Her ex-husband, Nikollaq Hudhra, 55, was placed in handcuffs.
The woman was walking through the park on Bennaduci Street to go to the home of the elderly woman she was caring for, after working as a night caretaker. The victim was the mother of two adult children, for whom social services have been activated for psychological support.
Authorities are still reconstructing the incident. According to some witnesses, the ex-husband also kicked her, even after she had fallen lifeless to the ground. Some local merchants said that after the crime, he sat on a bench and said: "I did what I had to do."
There was no previous complaint against the perpetrator and the victim's personal history was not known to the police. The mayor, Mauro Sclavi, as well as the Carabinieri of Tolentino and Macerata arrived at the scene. The 118 emergency team attempted to save the 45-year-old and transported her to the hospital, but unfortunately she died at the scene.
