Hazbi Velsula, who stabbed his cousin to death in Klos, remains in prison

The Dibra Court has ordered the security measure "prison arrest" against 32-year-old Hazbi Velsula, who is accused of being the perpetrator of the stabbing murder of his cousin Selim Velsula, 65, a crime recorded on Wednesday in the village of Xibër-Murriz in Klos.
It is learned that he did not give any statement to the black squads about the motive for the crime, requesting the presence of a defense attorney and refusing to cooperate with investigators.
According to police authorities, before the 65-year-old was killed, the two cousins had a physical conflict with each other. After the crime, Hazbi Velsula went to his brother's apartment in the Allias area of Tirana, where he was arrested by the police.
"From the actions taken, it is suspected that citizens Hazbi Velsula and Selim Velsula initially had a physical conflict for weak motives and then citizen Hazbi Velsula struck citizen Selim Velsula with a cold weapon (knife), causing his death.
"Following the actions, thanks to information received from the Tirana Local Police Directorate on the location of the suspected perpetrator, the Tirana DVP services arrested in the Allias neighborhood and put in handcuffs the suspected perpetrator of the incident, citizen Hazbi Velsula, 32 years old, resident of Allias, who after the crime had taken refuge in his brother's apartment. As material evidence, the cold weapon (knife) was seized, which is suspected to have been used by the perpetrator," the Police announced.
The victim had been living for years in the village of Xibër-Murrizë in the Klos municipality with his wife and had a quiet life. At around 4:00 PM on June 11, he asked his wife to help him take the cattle out to their property above the village.
After taking the cattle out, the victim returned to get a bottle of water and approached the area where he kept the cattle again. At that moment, his cousin, 32-year-old Hazbi Velsula, who had been living in the rural areas of Tirana for years, but had recently returned to the family property in Xibar, called the victim to come closer, saying "come on, I have a chat."
They then got into a physical altercation and he attacked him with a knife, hitting him several times and causing serious injuries. Selim Velsula immediately fell to the ground from the blows, while the perpetrator fled the scene.
The victim, although seriously injured, tried to return to his apartment, but was unable to do so. He was found lying lifeless on the village road by a local resident who was going to get water for irrigation. The latter immediately notified the victim's wife and then the other residents.
It is learned that the suspected perpetrator, Hazbi Velsula, called his sister after the crime, saying: "I killed a person with a knife." It was the perpetrator's sister who later notified the police, confessing to her brother's crime.
The concrete motives for this crime and the reasons for the conflict between the two neighbors are still unknown.
