Fire in Qeparo brought under control after ground and air intervention

After several hours of intense efforts, the fire that engulfed a forest area in Qeparo this afternoon has been completely extinguished.

The flames reached considerable proportions due to the difficult terrain and strong winds, creating a direct threat to homes and an oil refinery. Immediate intervention from the ground and air made it possible to neutralize the fire and avoid more serious consequences, writes A2.

The Air Force Black Hawk helicopter was involved in the operation, which played a key role in dealing with the active fire, while firefighting vehicles, MZSH agents, and forest service employees were engaged in the field.
