Cycling Tour of Albania for 5 days, blocked roads and restrictions throughout the country

The 2026 Cycling Tour of Albania will take place from today until Thursday and several roads will be blocked. Today, the roadblocks will include Tirana.

The police announce that a plan of measures has been drafted to guarantee the smooth running of the international sports activity "Cycling Tour of Albania 2026".

The event, divided into 5 stages, will take place in the territory of the Republic of Albania, on May 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22, 2026, and will be organized in cooperation with the Albanian Cycling Federation, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, the Albanian National Olympic Committee, as well as the relevant municipalities. Cycling teams from Albania, the Balkan countries and Europe will participate in the event.

Given the fact that the 83rd Cycling Tour of Albania will traverse some of the country's main axes and cities, the State Police has drafted a special plan of measures, which will engage local Police structures, Road Police services and support structures, with the objective of guaranteeing public order and road safety, escorting cyclists and ensuring the smooth running of the activity throughout the entire itinerary.

"Skënderbej" Square - "Zogu i Parë" Boulevard - "Dedë Gjo Luli" Street - "Myslym Shyri" Street - "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard - "Lekë Dukagjini" Street - "Ibrahim Rugova" Street - "Gjergj Fishta" Boulevard - Grand Ring Road - Tirana-TEG-Thumanë-Milot-Rrëshen-Reps Highway - return to Milot - finish in Lezha.

-Stage II, date 19.05.2026

Lockdown time: 12:00

Lezhë–Vorë–Golem–Rrogozhinë – finish in Elbasan.

-Stage III, date 20.05.2026

Lockdown time: 12:00

Elbasan–Belsh–Kuçovë–Lushnjë–Fier Ring Road – finish in Vlora.

-Stage IV, date 21.05.2026

Lockdown time: 12:00

Vlora–Llogara Tunnel–Himara–Kuc–Lepinca–Kotë – finish in Vlora.

-Stage V, date 22.05.2026

Lockdown time: 10:00

Vlora–Lushnja Loop – finish in Fier.

The State Police appeals for the understanding and cooperation of citizens during the activity, and recommends the use of alternative routes in segments where there will be temporary traffic restrictions.

State Police structures will be maximally committed to guaranteeing security and the smooth running of this international sporting event.
