Tragedy with 4 drowned in Buna, 4 years in prison for Erdgys Arrazin. He burned the clothes and broke the family photo

The serious tragedy that occurred in the waters of the Buna River in Shkodra, where a mother with three children drowned because her husband, Erdgys Arrazi, exercised psychological and physical violence, has been concluded with 4 years of imprisonment.

The event that occurred on May 3, 2024, which shocked the country when the police found the mother and 3 children drowned in the river, now has only one responsible author and that is the head of the family, Erdgys Arrazi.

Shkodra Judge Orgent Nazaj found Arraz guilty and sentenced him to 6 years in prison on the charge of "Causing suicide." However, due to the summary trial, this sentence was reduced by 2 years, ultimately sentencing Arraz to 4 years in prison.

The judge found evidence that the defendant Arrazi exercised physical and psychological violence against his wife, Alma Arrazi, causing the latter to experience a state of anxiety and depression, which led the family members to commit suicide in the waters of the Buna River.

It all started because Erdgys Arrazi had created an extramarital affair, and he was putting pressure on his wife to leave their apartment in Shkodra.

Time and again, Ergys Arrazi took Alma's clothes out into the yard and burned them in front of her, as a sign of psychological pressure to leave the apartment.

At the same time, Judge Nazaj decided to accept the prosecution's request to dismiss the charge of "Murder under qualifying circumstances" against Erdgys Arraz, arguing that no convincing evidence was found to substantiate this criminal offense.

Alma Arraz's sister, Gentjana Z., told investigators that during the time she was in conflict with her husband, Alma Arraz would go to her apartment to calm down.

"...she cried all the time, she was shocked and the children experienced this state, as the arguments took place in front of them. The children even knew the name of their father's girlfriend, listening to them in the arguments...".

Gentjana has stated that there is a photo where Erdgys' girlfriend is holding Alma's son.

"...the last time she was at Gentjana's, Valentina (Sister-in-law) called Alma on the phone, telling her that Ergysi had taken all her clothes outside and set them on fire. Alma was expecting Ergysi's action, he had also broken a family photo of Alma with the children and himself, kicking it. In those moments that Alma was at her sister's house, she heard Alma talking on the phone with a representative of an association, her name was Nevila and Alma was asking for help..." - the victim's sister stated in the prosecution.
