SPAK seized 4 million euros of assets, Suel Çela's father: They are

Petrit Çela, the father of Suel Çela, has reacted after SPAK and Italian authorities announced the seizure of assets worth around 4 million euros in Verona, suspected of having benefited from international cocaine trafficking.

In a telephone conversation with News 24 journalist Klodiana Lala, Çela categorically denied that the assets were related to criminal activity, stating that he started his activity 34 years ago and that any assets he owns are legal.

"The assets in Italy have been investigated previously and I have three court decisions that prove their legality ," said Çela.

He also reacted harshly to the media, accusing them of "blackening his life" with false news and constant public attacks.

"I will pursue the legal battle until the end. I will make public all the documents that prove that my wealth is built through honest work ," Çela continued.

Today, SPAK announced that it has seized in Verona, Italy, more than 4 million euros of assets which, according to the indictment, are owned by the criminal organization of Suel Çela in Elbasan. More specifically, the following were seized:

"Investigations established that these assets were created and financed with the profits from international drug trafficking from South America to European markets. Attention was focused on a real estate company in Italy, to which large sums of money were sent through the banking system. It turned out that the money came from Albania, as the criminal organization transferred the income from a commercial company in Albania, owned by two Albanian brothers, and these amounts were invested in Italy in the construction and reconstruction of buildings, which were then rented out," SPAK said in a statement.

The seizure was made by decision of the Verona Court as a preventive measure, within the framework of ongoing investigations.

Çela's criminal activity began almost two decades ago in Italy. He was first convicted at the age of 17 by the Turin Court in 2005, after being caught with 510 grams of cocaine. Çela was again wanted in 2007 by the Livorno Court for violating the legislation on narcotics and was sentenced in 2013 to 4 years and 7 months in prison and a 26 thousand euro fine.

In Albania, Suel Çela has been on the police file since 2013, but has not been convicted by justice.

There are currently at least two arrest warrants for Çela; the first issued in May 2022 following investigations and the testimony of the repentant Nuredin Dumani, and the second in November 2024, based on communications on SKY EÇ between him and 20 other suspected members of the organization, also under indictment.

Suel Çela is accused of murder and drug trafficking.
