The reaction of the fired journalist/ How the director of the Albanian public

Journalist and moderator Elona Jaçellari has made a public denunciation of the manner in which she was dismissed from her job at the Albanian Public Radio and Television.

Through a video message, she claimed that there was no warning of dismissal, a practice followed by the head of RTSH, Aurora Polo.

Jaçellari has also made an appeal to the justice authorities.

"Found in the situation where I have been unemployed for two months in the most absurd and inhumane circumstances, I chose to speak out in the face of this injustice and why in the face of such situations I choose to remain silent, I have learned my lesson and move forward. But the lesson I learned this time was that ... I am a journalist and if I do not use my voice for myself. Today I do not want to present arguments to defend the professional criteria or standards that my 22 years of journalism are marked by and I do not want to present them as an argument in the face of a pseudo-superior who does not recognize only the standard of journalism. Unannounced and from third-party sources, I learned that my program contract at RTSH is terminated. Without any motivation, without any explanation. It was December 31st when everyone, including this director, should have celebrated, while I had to hide my tears, put on a mask and pretend in front of my family. However, the situation continued to lie to me with promises of a new opportunity at this institution, which did not happen because the throne of that institution, which is covered by Albanian taxpayers, is today used as an inherited vassal and not as an obligation to the Albanian public and all the people who make their professional contribution. My story is that of dozens of people who are in the same situation, who have chosen to remain silent or speak out. Today it is simply a moral, or a message to the justice authorities, to react in the face of a crime that kills with a pen,” says Jaçellari.
