Albanian scientist in America, Kevin Dervishi, on the way to a cure for colon cancer

Kevin Dervishi is one of those young Albanians who makes us feel proud as a nation with their achievements. A promising scientist who gives hope to people with his research in the field of medical biotechnology, in the genetics of cancer, reports A2.
Recently, Kevin completed his doctoral studies at Harvard where his research area was precisely colon cancer.
The 28-year-old has managed to study the genetic mutation that causes this type of cancer to pave the way for dedicated treatment of patients, writes A2.
Kevin is following in the footsteps of his family, where his grandfather Qevqep Kambo was among the few distinguished people who contributed to the field of science in Albania. His mother, also a scientific researcher in the field of biotechnology who works in the USA today, and the son of a professor at the University of California, San Diego, reports A2.
Thus, Kevin, the Albanian born in the USA, grew up among a wide field of researchers, professors and innovators of biotechnology.
He tells A2 CNN that he studied the Albanian language at Harvard University, an initiative that excited his mother.
Kevin is married to Bell, an American lawyer, who has fallen in love with Albania and Albanians. Even at their wedding, they did not forget the Albanian folk costume.
Although they both try to learn new Albanian words, there are some that Kevin often confuses, especially words close to each other. (A2 Television)
