From The Times, CNN, BBC, Bloomberg and Reuters/ Citizen revolt! International media echo the protest in Tirana against Rama

The massive protests that have swept Albania, calling for the resignation of the government, continue to attract the attention of major world media. Bloomberg, The Guardian and CBS News highlight the prolonged wave of protests in Tirana, otherwise known as the “Flamingo Revolution”, reporting that thousands of citizens have filled the boulevards with calls against the government. Al Jazeera and Le Monde emphasize that the movement has exploded beyond traditional party causes, turning into a popular revolt against arrogance and misrule. BBC News highlights the position of the Albanian government.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has described the resort projects as development opportunities, but foreign media also report the high sensitivity of citizens to not violate nature and protected areas such as the Narta Lagoon or Sazan Island. NPR and agencies such as Reuters and the Associated Press have broadcast the protesters' messages and slogans such as "Albania is not for sale."
Ariel Brunner, the director of the environmental charity BirdLife for Europe, told CNN that he and other environmentalists visited the natural site in early May, where they saw excavators digging into the beach and trucks dumping gravel. The Times describes the reasons that led Albanians to rise up in mass protests.
