Albania-Serbia match, CPD appeals to citizens: Avoid hate speech
On the eve of the Albania-Serbia match, valid for the qualifiers of the "USA-2026" football world championship, the institution of the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination notes a high level of sporting, antagonistic and emotional involvement of organized fans.
According to a statement to the media, the CPD says that sport should express values such as dignity, inclusiveness and respect that apply to everyone.
" In this context, the Institution of the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination appeals to citizens in the stadium to avoid inappropriate expressions, hate speech slogans and ethnic stereotypes that may violate human dignity ," the statement says.
The CPD institution states that " protection against hate speech and ethnic discrimination constitutes a human right, which must be ensured in the field of sports. The Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, together with the authorities of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF), will monitor the match in Tirana."
