"They wanted to kill me", the President of Colombia accuses Dritan Gjika's group: This is called the drug trafficking cartel, based in Abu Dhabi

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has accused Dritan Gjika's group, arrested in the United Arab Emirates, of wanting to kill him.
Through a post on X, he claims that they wanted to assassinate him, but failed.
"This is called the drug trafficking cartel, based in Abu Dhabi. They control a network of prosecutors and, through the CTI, the port of Buenaventura. They are the perpetrators of the murder of the Paraguayan prosecutor Pecci and have managed to cover up the perpetrators of the murder within the prosecutor's office. They have attempted to assassinate me without success ," writes Gustavo Petro.
Dritan Gjika, a 47-year-old Albanian, was arrested in Abu Dhabi. He was one of the most wanted people in Ecuador for drug trafficking, money laundering and criminal organization.
Gjika, who is also the "head" of the Albanian mafia in Ecuador, is accused of trafficking large amounts of drugs to Central America and Europe.
The Ecuadorian Interior Ministry said in a statement that "Dritan Gjika has become one of the most wanted men in the country" for drug trafficking, money laundering and organized crime operations.
In February 2024, the Ecuadorian Attorney General's Office named him the leader of Albanian mafia operations in the country, but he could not be tried because he was a fugitive.
