Police have arrested a 49-year-old man in Pogradec, who had been wanted since May 22, after he raped his wife and left the apartment, violating the security measures.

The 49-year-old's wife is in the hospital, under the care of doctors.

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for further action, for the criminal offenses of "Domestic Violence" and "Removal of a Prisoner from the Place of Residence".

While under house arrest for the criminal offense of "Domestic Violence," the 49-year-old man hit his wife with hard objects and left the apartment. He was arrested and put in handcuffs.

As a result of continuous checks to locate and apprehend wanted citizens, based on information provided by intelligence, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Pogradec Police Commissariat have located, apprehended and detained the citizen: PF, 49 years old, resident of the village of Mëmëlisht.

This citizen was declared wanted after it is suspected that on 22.05.2025, in the village of Mëmëlisht, Pogradec, in the apartment, while he was under the security measure "House Arrest", for the criminal offense "Domestic Violence", he hit his wife with hard objects and immediately left the apartment.

The 49-year-old's wife is in the hospital, under the care of doctors.
