Athletics, Norwegian sets world record in rare 300 m/p race

A rare feat was achieved in the 300m hurdles at the prestigious Wanda Diamond League athletics event. Norway's Karsten Warholm broke his own world record in the event after a fantastic performance in Oslo.

The great Norwegian hurdler shattered his world best time in the 300-meter hurdles after a thrilling duel at the finish with American Rai Benjamin.

Encouraged by the home crowd, the 2020 Olympic champion emerged from the turn behind Benjamin, but overtook the rival he had also beaten for the Olympic gold medal last year in Paris to finish in a blistering time of 32.67 seconds, thus breaking his previous record of 33.05 seconds set in April.
