Jet Ski accident, survivor reveals details: We didn't know how to swim, the

The two English tourists of Ghanaian origin, who were involved in a Jet Ski accident on Sunday morning at the Rock of Kavaja, went into the deep end even though they did not know how to swim.

Tv Klan has secured the full file of the accident, in which 34-year-old Sylvester Obeng lost his life. On the day of the incident, he had gone out to sea with his partner to sail on a rented Jet Ski, although he did not have a license.

In her account, survivor Vera Baume stated that she and her partner fell off the Jet Ski as a result of losing their balance and did not crash. They fell into the sea and, according to her, the life jacket did not keep them afloat.

Her account of taking the Jet Ski coincides with security camera footage obtained by Klan News.

"At 10:00 on Sunday, we went with some friends to get jet skis. The person who was there taught us how to drive them. We gave him money, got the engine and got into the water. First, he put life jackets on us; then, we slowly got into the water, since we are not specialists. When we went far, Sylvester gave it gas and immediately turned the engine over. There we both fell and fell into the water. We did not know how to swim and were trying to survive. Trying to survive, Sylvester was not kept afloat by the life jacket, and I, while surviving, did not see what happened to him,"  said survivor Vera Baume.

After this moment, first aid was provided by the border police, who happened to be patrolling the area where the incident occurred. The survivor also describes the moment the border police and the boat of the person renting the Jet Ski arrived.

The owner of the entity, Luiz Xhumari, has stated that he did everything possible to come to the aid of the tourists, but the great distance where the English couple had sailed made it impossible to save the 34-year-old.

When the two tourists were brought ashore, the ambulance staff, who were waiting for them at the pier, determined that he had lost his life.

After investigative actions, the police arrested the owner of the entity that rented out the watercraft, after it turned out that he had given the Jet Ski to the tourists, even though they did not have a license. Xhumari told the police that the tourists had given him a foreign document as a driving license and that he had thought it was a regular license for the Jet Ski.

Also, according to the police, he should have equipped the tourists with protective suits.
