Controversy continues in Spain regarding the suspension that Kylian Mbappé received, after being sent off in the match against Alaves, won 1-0 by Real Madrid.

The French striker made a harsh tackle on Antonio Blanco, which earned him a straight red card. But despite the serious nature of the foul, the Spanish Football Federation decided to only suspend him for one match, which has sparked strong reactions, especially from the Barcelona camp.

Barcelona vice-president Rafael Yuste reacted strongly to the microphones of the "El Món" program on RAC-1:  "I would say it is absolutely absurd. It was a very serious foul, which could have caused a fracture, a serious injury. If one of our players had committed such a foul, which is not even conceivable, because ours are clean players, I don't know what would have happened."

He added: "If one of us had thrown himself at the opponent in that way... it would be a different story. It's unfair, a bad example for football. A real shame. We all need to work together to ensure that such things don't happen."

Yuste also commented on his team's qualification for the Champions League semi-finals: " This is a winning team. Hansi (Flick), his staff and Deco are people hungry for trophies. The objective was to reach the semi-finals, but these people aim for perfection. And I think internal criticism is essential. This team wants titles, you can only improve if you are hungry and angry when you lose."
