Spinach casserole with bechamel

Ingredients :
500 gr spinach
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
2 cloves garlic (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
For the béchamel sauce:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
500 ml milk
A pinch of nutmeg
Salt and pepper
Preparation :
Wash the spinach well and boil it for 5 minutes until it softens. Drain and squeeze out the water. In a pan, fry the garlic in a little oil or butter, then add the spinach, salt and pepper. Continue to sauté for a few minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the béchamel sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan, add the flour and stir for 1-2 minutes over low heat.
Then slowly add the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Let it simmer until it thickens slightly. Add a little salt, pepper and nutmeg at the end. Mix the spinach with the béchamel sauce and place in a casserole dish. If desired, add some grated cheese on top and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 200°C until golden brown.
