Lara Colturi, the 18-year-old of Italian origin, represents Albania in the sport of skiing, proudly carrying the Albanian flag in international competitions.
In her conversation with the head of the government Edi Rama, Colturi gave the reasons why she chose to represent Albania. She stated that she made the decision with her parents, adding that she is proud to represent the colors red and black.
Lara Colturi: I made the decision to represent Albania together with my parents, with my family, to be together with my parents on the track and everywhere.
Edi Rama: This decision is welcome from our side, you decided to cross from one side of the coast to the other and get Albanian citizenship.
Lara Colturi: My mother talked to Elvis and saw the opportunity to come to Albania. I was in category C and I was 12-13-14 years old, I had won all the competitions. We thought that taking such a step would open all the ways to ranking in the first places in the World Cup and to achieve my dream, working together with my parents.
Edi Rama: It should be explained that your mother is the coach of the national ski team.
Lara Colturi: My father and mother are my coaches. It is a pleasure to represent Albania.
