Storm 'Martinho' hits Portugal, 6 injured and over 600 incidents in Lisbon
Storm Martinho has battered Portugal, injuring six people and causing at least 638 incidents in the capital Lisbon.
According to authorities in the Portuguese capital, the incidents were mainly due to trees falling due to strong winds, and many roads were closed to traffic.
The Lisbon municipality said the city continues to be functional, although repair work will be necessary in the coming days.
Storm Martinho is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain across the country, with warnings widely issued by authorities.
Large parts of Portugal and Spain are expected to experience winds reaching up to 110 kilometers per hour.
The storm comes amid turbulent weather conditions in southwestern Europe, including severe flooding in Valencia late last year.
