Gonzato and the EU delegation visit the Special Court! GJKKO offices built with criminals' "money", reconstruction from confiscated assets

The Delegation of the European Union to Albania, led by the EU Ambassador, Silvio Gonzato, visited the building of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC). The news was announced by the delegation itself through a post on its official Facebook page.
It is noted that there was funding from the EU, but also that 80% of the reconstruction cost was financed through the reuse of assets confiscated from the criminal world.
"We visited the building of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, which is funded by the EU and has recently been reconstructed to meet the highest EU standards. We welcome the fact that 80% of the reconstruction cost was financed through the reuse of confiscated assets, " the post reads.
It is further added that: “The acting President of the Special Court of First Instance, Judge Erion Bani, and the EU Ambassador, Silvio Gonzato, discussed the role of the Court in strengthening public trust in the justice system and in maintaining high standards in decision-making.”

During the visit, the Acting President of the Special Court of First Instance, Judge Erion Bani, and the EU Ambassador, Silvio Gonzato, discussed the Court's role in strengthening public trust in the justice system and in maintaining high standards in decision-making.
The EU Ambassador also stressed that improving the standards of judicial infrastructure should remain a priority throughout Albania, to guarantee security, transparency and access to justice.

During the visit Acting Chair Judge Erion Bani and EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato discussed the SPAK Court's role in strengthening public trust in the judiciary and upholding high standards in decision-making.
The EU Ambassador also stressed that improving court infrastructure standards should remain a priority across Albania to ensure safety, transparency, and access to justice.
