Iranian Foreign Minister: UK risks being seen as a party to the conflict

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told his British counterpart, Yvette Cooper, during a phone call that any use of British bases by the United States would be considered participation in aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It is not known exactly when this conversation took place.
" These actions will undoubtedly be considered as participation in aggression and will be recorded in the history of relations between the two countries ," Araghchi said in a statement released Friday by Iran's Foreign Ministry.
The UK did not allow the US to use its bases for initial offensive strikes against Iran, but later gave permission for them to be used for defensive actions against Iranian missile attacks.
Downing Street has stated: " We did not take part in the initial attacks and will not become involved in a wider war."
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly harshly criticized the UK for not being more involved in the conflict.
