"I am angry", Olaf Scholz calls for toughening of deportation policies

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has called for tougher deportation policies for illegal immigrants. The reaction of the senior German official comes after the tragedy of three days ago, when an immigrant from Syria stabbed three people who lost their lives and eight others were injured in Solingen. Olaf Scholz, said he wants to increase the deportations of illegal migrants.

"We need to once again strengthen the legal rules for weapons that we have in Germany, this applies especially to the use of knives, but also to many other things that need to be fixed very quickly. We will have to do everything we can to ensure that those who cannot and are not allowed to stay here in Germany are repatriated and deported," Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany.

Scholz announced swift consequences and demanded severe punishment for the perpetrator. Germany's gun law regulations, especially on the use of knives, should be tightened again, said the SPD politician present at the scene of the attack. "This must happen and now it will happen very soon", said the German Chancellor.

The chancellor also spoke of a stronger fight against Islamic terror. "This free society cannot be defeated, but it must also be able to defend itself - at a level suitable for this challenge, therefore, it must be discussed whether the authorities are adequately equipped," writes A2 CNN.

Three people were killed and eight others were injured in last Friday's attack on a square in the city center of Solingen. The 26-year-old suspect, who is originally from Syria, was taken into custody by order of the court, reports the German agency DPA. The attacker, who is suspected of being a member of the Islamic State terror group, was reportedly expected to be deported to Bulgaria after arriving in Germany in 2022, but police were unable to locate him. /A2CNN
