Erdogan: Israel will boycott peace talks with Iran

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared that the conflict involving Israel, the US and Iran is an "illegal war" waged by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to foreign media, Erdogan also said that the whole world is paying the price of this war.

"The last 25 days have shown that, although this is Israel's war, the world is paying the price. It is Netanyahu's fight for power, but 8 billion people are suffering the consequences," Erdogan said, Anadolu reports, expressing his hope that the conflict can be ended soon through a negotiation process, "before damage is caused to the global economy that will take years to repair."

In a televised speech after a cabinet meeting in Ankara, the Turkish leader added that Israel's "unyielding, maximalist and radical stance must not be allowed to sabotage diplomatic solutions."

"The last 25 days have shown that the world is paying the price for Netanyahu's war, which is affecting 8 billion people," Erdogan continued, referring to the economic consequences of the conflict, which began with American and Israeli attacks on Iran.

"Turkey was among the first countries to correctly understand the process that plunged the region into a bloodbath of violence," Erdogan added, stressing his determination to "keep our country away from this ring of fire. We reject a destructive regional war."
