Middle East blockade, US military warns: Ships entering the restricted area will be pursued and…

The US military has warned that any ship entering or leaving its upcoming blockade zone without permission will be "subject to pursuit, diversion and capture."
In a note to sailors, reported by Reuters, US Central Command said it would enforce a blockade in the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea east of the Strait of Hormuz from 3pm UK time today.
The blockade will apply to all traffic regardless of flag, the announcement said.
"Any vessel entering or leaving the blockaded area without authorization is subject to interception, diversion and seizure. The blockade will not impede neutral transit passage through the Strait of Hormuz to or from non-Iranian destinations," the statement said.
US President Donald Trump initially said on social media that the US Navy would prevent "any and all" ships from passing through the Strait of Hormuz, but the US military later clarified that it would enforce the blockade "in an impartial manner" against ships entering and leaving Iranian ports.
