The sad story of the 36-year-old tells the touching meeting with the children in the hospital: I couldn't get out of bed

Donika Zagolli, today 36 years old, was born in Librazhd. When she turned 18, she was introduced to 22-year-old Blear, who became her husband. Donika went as a bride to the village of Stravaj in Librazhd and found a large family there.
His grandmother, two parents and sister and brother lived together with her husband. He had to find the balance all the time to maintain a happy relationship.
2 years after the marriage, the youngest member was added to the big family, her son Igli, 1 and a half year old Indriti and 3 years later her daughter Irina.
Donika took care of the village chores, taking care of the crops, the house, and the children, although not as much as she would have liked.
When her eldest son turned 5 years old, her husband's brother decided to take him to the mountains, where he would learn to work from an early age and spend the whole summer as a shepherd away from his family.
Meanwhile, Donika wanted to offer another life to her children, to have them by her side, to educate them. It was too early for them to work, but in the family she was not the one to decide, nor was her husband.
The second son also grew up and when he also turned 6 years old, they took him with them to Bjeshke. They lived in the mountains, from laughter in September. They barely spoke an hour a day on the phone. Donika felt sorry for them, for her they were too young to work, but she also missed them a lot.
At home was her daughter, who was spoiled a little more as the only one who spent more time with her parents.
Daily life in the family was almost routine, until Blear started complaining of severe headaches. The visits began until they discovered the shocking news that there was an aggressive tumor in his head.
He was sent for surgery to Turkey, where his father accompanied him. Worried Donika stayed with the children, mainly with the little girl who was looking for her father every day. He had tried to give him as little information as possible, but the children heard family conversations, people coming to visit, and cried worriedly for their father.
After some time in the hospital with operations and treatments, the doctors return Blear home, with the sad news that there was no cure.
The last months of his life were spent between pain and bequests for the children. They saw their father transform day by day, they asked Donika why dad hardly spoke, why he didn't get up from the bed, and Donika didn't know what answer to give.
To keep them away from that situation, their uncle takes the boys to Bjeshka, and they returned at night where, unfortunately, 4 years ago their father passed away. He was only 36 years old, while Donika was 32.
The boys returned after 2 days to the cattle ranch, while the girl stayed with Donika. She was very attached to her father and experienced his loss very badly. He started to lose consciousness suddenly and Donika was getting very worried. On the other hand, the boys were far away. He talks to his father-in-law one night and tells him that he would like the children to get an education, to have a better life, but he tells him that the boys have to work.
Donika decides that for the future of her children, she will have to do something.
She informs her family and her brother, after talking once again with the family members of Donika's husband, decide that they will do the best for the children.
Donika leaves a few months later to live with her parents in Librazhd.
They did not have the best conditions to keep them. They lived in rent, her father was sick, but they would make this sacrifice for the children's future. They were happy, they liked the idea of going to the city. They started school there.
Meanwhile, Donika felt the weight that had burdened her parents. With all the stresses experienced, he lost 45 kilos.
To ease the situation, she starts looking for a job, but at that time her father falls seriously ill and 1 year after living together, he passes away. It was another shock for her children. They were small and were experiencing a lot of pain.
Grandma remains at home, but she was also sick.
He suffered from diabetes, a thrombosis had left him partially paralyzed, and hearing problems had begun to appear. Donika took care of him all the time.
It was September of 2023, when Donika, at lunchtime, after the children were asleep, went out to talk to some friends.
There was a day when they just started laughing at each other, I don't know why they got into that mood. At one point the girl wakes up, goes out the window and calls her mom to come home. Donika turns her head, gets up, tells him I'm here, and as she leaves, she falls to the ground unconscious.
The girl stared at the window, everyone gathered around Donika, who did not mention it. Despite the efforts, the screams of the children, a crowd of people who surrounded her, Donika stood with her eyes closed without any reaction.
He doesn't remember anything, he remembers waking up after a few hours in the hospital. A vein had burst in his head and immediate intervention was required.
The children came to see him, just before the operation. Even though she didn't have to get up, Donika went out the window a little, with effort, just so they could look at her and believe that she was fine.
He will never forget their sad faces.
While she was operated on and recovered, on the other hand the children suffered from the fear of losing their mother. They were growing up fast, they had learned to cook, take care of their grandmother, give her insulin.
3 months later, Donika returns home. But things changed a lot. She could not take care of them in the same way, and moreover, she entrusted the children with the care of their sick grandmother.
The 15-year-old boy started working as a waiter, just to help the family a little.
They have big dreams, they want to become actors, footballers, dancers, but how distant these dreams seem in the conditions where the problems are greater. The children worry about food, about the mother's health, about the announcements from the owners of the houses that they will have to vacate the house and look for another one.
Donika has only one dream, to see her children one day calm and happy, and to provide them with the life they deserve.
Their lives have changed so much in such a short time. Donika recalls the day she lost consciousness.
While he did not react for an hour, Donika remembers an event that he doesn't know if he should call it a dream.
While the ambulance was transporting her to Tirana, Donika remembers that during that trip she met her father together with her husband. She says that she was walking in beautiful fields with flowers, she felt calm, she missed her husband a lot.
He hugged her, grabbed her hand and started to run away with her. But the father called him, said: What about the children? And Donika came back again. She opened her eyes and turned for them... Because in the end, in addition to being a daughter and a wife, she was a MOTHER./TCH
