Here's how old Adriano Celentano turned today

Adriano Celentano turns 87 today. Born in Milan in 1938, he made his debut at the Teatro Smeraldo, where, together with Tony Renis, he presented, under the name "Gli allegri menestrelli del rhythm", a funny musical parody of the Jerry Lewis - Dean Martin couple, until evenings in Santa Tecla, where he meets rock-boogie champion Bruno Dossena, who invites him to participate in the Rock'n'roll Festival.
On May 18, 1957, the first Italian Rock'n'Roll Festival took place at the Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Milan. Adriano Çelentano participates accompanied by the musical group Rock boys, which includes Giorgio Gaber and Enzo Jannacci. Beat the competition with "Ciao tirò". Three days later he signed his first contract with the Milanese record label Saar for which he made his debut recording "Rip It Up", "Jaihouse Rock" and "Tutti Frutti".
Your Kiss is Like a Rock (1959) catapulted Celentano to the top of the bestseller charts and made Adriano Celentano's fame explode throughout Italy.
In 1961, Adriano participated in his first Sanremo Festival with "24,000 Kisses", together with Little Tony. It ranks second, but his album will be the best seller, surpassing one million copies.
In 1966 he returned to the Sanremo festival, where a decisive turning point occurred: for the first time Celentano proposed (an absolute novelty in Europe, which had never heard of pollution) a song with ecological content. The song is the famous "Il ragazzo della via Gluck", which is excluded on the first listen. The song will surpass one and a half million copies sold and enter the collective consciousness of Italy like few other pop songs.
Together with Claudia Morin he recorded "The most beautiful couple in the world", written with a great author, Paolo Conte, who would later say that whenever he composes he thinks of Adriano's voice, as "the most beautiful in Europe ".
On July 15, 1968, Adriano returned to the Sanremo festival with "Canzone", together with Milva. It ranked third, but the song is first on the hit parade. But the year 1968 is above all the year of "Azzurro", another historical song in the Italian music scene, written by Paolo Conte. The song stayed at the top of the charts for a long time.
Celentano with Claudia Mori participated in the Sanremo Festival in 1970: with "Who doesn't work, doesn't make love", which was partly interpreted as an anti-strikes anthem.
Then his career continued to climb, including several cinematographic roles as well as television shows where he openly expressed his views regarding Italian social and political life, always inciting controversy and debate.
