The war sent oil prices into the "stratosphere"! Germany takes relief

The continued rise in fuel prices has led Germany to temporarily lower fuel taxes in an attempt to mitigate a potential crisis.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that taxes on gasoline and diesel will be reduced by about 17 cents per liter, for a two-month period.

An announcement he made during a press conference where he said: "We will reduce the fuel tax on diesel and gasoline by approximately 17 cents per liter for two months."  This is a measure that aims to help families and businesses that are facing high costs, driven by tensions in the Middle East.

While global oil prices continue to remain volatile, the German government aims to provide relief to consumers through this decision.
