They favored the Albanian mafia led by Gjika, 3 justice officials are arrested

It seems that the Albanian cocaine mafia in Ecuador, which was able to bribe high-ranking police and justice officials, is receiving serious blows in this country, a major producer of the expensive drug. Thus, the local media reports that two people have been put in handcuffs and another has been declared wanted by the authorities in Ecuador, as they are accused of favoring the Albanian mafia, and more specifically the group led by Dritan Gjika.

According to the local media, two justice officials, Douglas C. and Luis S., were arrested during a joint operation between the National Police and the General State Prosecutor's Office. Meanwhile, Judge Lenin G., who is also accused of favoring members of the Albanian mafia, has been announced as wanted.

In an announcement from the local prosecutor's office, it is said that the arrested persons had "irregularly" given security measures in favor of the 3 defendants, who were part of the Albanian mafia. These citizens, who were in custody for organized crime and money laundering, are suspected of being part of a criminal network led by Dritan G".

Also, the Prosecution requested support from the Police to find Judge Lenin G., from the same Judicial Unit, who would have ordered the release of the defendants and for whom an arrest warrant is pending. He is currently on the run, and has not yet been located by the police.

WHO IS DRITAN GIKA

Dritan Gjika, wanted as the leader of the Albanian mafia operating in Ecuador, is accused of collaborating with 4 people, Mario S, Carina E, Carlos G and Pablo H, to launder over 31 million dollars in proceeds from the traffic drugs. Seven companies or legal entities are also in the process. Against them, the judge has ordered preventive detention, sequestration of property and blocking of accounts. He has ordered the police to locate and arrest the accused, Ecuadorian media reports.

For Gjika and other wanted persons, the court ordered the seizure of the assets and bank accounts they have in Ecuador. On February 7, the National Police, together with the Prosecutor's Office, arrested Julio L., Jonnathan L., Bryan L., Javier C. and Teresa P. as a result of the "Pampa" operation, which took place in several cities of Ecuador and also in Spain. The citizens under investigation are suspected of having benefited from various assets such as expensive vehicles, luxury apartments or land through income from drug trafficking. Meanwhile, Dritan Gjika is wanted in Ecuador, after the Police discovered his suspected participation in cocaine trafficking from Colombia to Ecuador, with the final destination being Europe. However, this did not prevent Gjika from recently selling one of his companies, despite the court ban.
