Veliaj complains to the Constitutional Court: The decisions of the preliminary

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has appealed to the Constitutional Court the decision of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime to transfer his case to trial.

In the request, Veliaj seeks the annulment of the decision taken in the preliminary hearing on February 9, arguing that the process was fraught with serious procedural violations. He claims that he was denied the right to a full review of the file, which, according to him, violated the standards of due process.

The mayor further requests that all court hearings held so far be declared invalid, questioning the entire procedure followed by the GJKKO. The case is expected to be reviewed by the Constitutional Court, which will decide on the validity of the claims raised and whether constitutional rights have been violated during the process.
