Von der Leyen welcomes Israel-Lebanon ceasefire: Countries must work for peace

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has welcomed the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, announced by US President Donald Trump.
"This is a relief, as this conflict has already claimed many lives," she writes in X.
Von der Leyen further says that a path towards permanent peace must now be followed.
"US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will now work with both countries "to achieve a SUSTAINABLE PEACE," Trump previously stated.
