In his confession, Stenaldo tells that his father was killed by a person to whom he had turned his back after giving him a hug.
"I was born in Lushnje on May 28, 1997. I was born in a city where I never lived, except for the first month of my life, until my father passed away in June of that same year, murdered in a vile way in that vile year for all Albanians that has made us lose more than ever in our fragile history. He was killed by someone after he gave him a hug and turned his back to continue on his way. And that is why I have always said that in this world all the brave are killed by cowards. When a person grows up with such a loss, there is no dramatic moment in his life, there is no moment when you learn, you simply know that unlike other children, your father is not there," Stenaldo said, among other things, in his story.
In recent days, two of Stenaldo's uncles, Artur and Arben Mëhilli, have been arrested in Italy, who in 1999 killed Rezar Metaj, the man who took the life of their brother.
They were sentenced in 2001 by the Lushnja Court for "premeditated murder", committed in collaboration, as well as for "unlicensed possession of weapons", to 15 years and 6 months and 16 years and 6 months of imprisonment, respectively.
After the crime, they fled to Italy using false identities, with which they also obtained residence permits.
