The Earth is absorbing more light than before, experts: It's not turning back, the northern hemisphere is getting darker!

NASA's Langley Research Center has discovered that the northern hemisphere is darkening faster than the southern one, a change that is expected to affect precipitation and weather patterns.
Experts say there is a symmetry between the planet's two hemispheres: They reflect almost the same amount of sunlight back into space.
Which in itself is strange, because the northern half has more land, more cities and more pollution, writes TCH. This should lead to a higher albedo - the amount of light reflected - than the southern half, which, being mostly oceanic, is much darker and absorbs more radiation.
But a recent study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences shows that this balance is being disrupted, and this could have devastating effects on the climate. The study authors, scientists from NASA's Langley Research Center, who analyzed 24 years of observations from the CERES mission, found that now, the opposite is happening: The northern hemisphere is absorbing light faster than the southern one.
It is getting darker. This change in the Earth's energy balance could accelerate global warming, because if our planet, like any other object, absorbs more light, its temperature increases. These changes, according to experts, could affect rainfall and therefore weather patterns for decades to come.
