Citizens in the square demand prison for him, Balluku 'fearlessly' supports Rama

As protesters in Tirana and other cities chanted "Rama in prison" and "Belinda Balluku in prison," demanding the government's resignation, Belinda Balluku chose to appear fearlessly alongside the Socialist Party at its 35th anniversary celebrations in Fier.
Amid applause from the Socialists in Apolonia, Balluku defended the government's achievements and praised the contribution of the SP leaders over the years, emphasizing that the Socialists "wrote history" with the results of the last elections.
"In May 2025, we wrote the history of 12 mandates," declared Balluku, while thanking important figures of the Socialist Party, including Gramoz Ruçi, Taulant Balla and Erion Braçe.
"Honorable Chairman of the Socialist Party, secretaries, founders, members, well-wishers, welcome to this special evening celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party, in Fier, the capital of the socialists, unlike what the people of Vlora say."
We chose Apollonia, not because it is one of the most beautiful ancient parks in our region, but also to give a message about nature and roots. Humans tend to think about the future, but without memories and the past, the future cannot be built.
We are here to honor the contribution of the socialists of Fier. Those who are 30 or 25 years old today do not understand what it was like to be a member of the Socialist Party in 1991 or 1995. Your grandparents and parents have made a great contribution. In May 2025 we wrote the history of 12 mandates.
"I wanted to thank Gramoz Ruçi for everything he has done for the SP, Taulant Balla, a good friend of mine, from whom I took over the baton for Fier, as well as Erion Braçe, who has spent the time of three mandates to contribute here ," Balluku said.
Her statements come at a time when protests against the government are continuing, with citizens accusing the executive branch of misgovernment and demanding the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Footage from the protest showed banners, national flags, and continuous calls against Rama and Balluku, while from Fier, Balluku conveyed a completely opposite message, describing the Socialist Party as the force that has built the country's successes in recent years.
