The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has officially reacted to the summons of the Russian Ambassador to Tirana, Alexey Zaitsev, following the Russian drone and missile attacks, during which the residential complex where the Albanian ambassador to Ukraine resides was hit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that a strong protest has been conveyed to Ambassador Zaitsev and it has been underlined that the attacks had seriously violated the security and life of the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania.
" This incident is unacceptable and completely contrary to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and other international obligations that guarantee the inviolability, in all circumstances, of the safety and dignity of accredited diplomatic staff ," the reaction underlines.
Further, the Foreign Ministry writes that the Russian ambassador was handed a verbal note and asked to convey the Albanian side's call for respect for international norms to the authorities of his country.
