"Gonzato told us that the project has been canceled" - Rama replies to the foreign journalist: There is no project, I don't know what the Ambassador told you!

Prime Minister Edi Rama described as lies what is being said about the existence of a project for Zvërnec or its cancellation and suspension.
He reiterated that if a project does not exist, there is nothing to approve, nothing to suspend, and nothing to cancel.
He even had a clash with foreign journalists who repeated that he had previously stated that the project had been canceled. Rama denied it and demanded to hear the recording of what he had stated, while underlining that journalists had also fallen prey to lies produced on social media.
"Lies are very tempting. This is what is being spread on all platforms. How can I help you. What is the difference between there being no project and the project being canceled? I'm seriously asking you, there is no difference, don't you see a difference? Seriously? If there is no project what will you cancel? So you don't see any difference between there being no project and the project being canceled? That's why I asked this question, because I never said, don't insist. So the project has been suspended. My grandmother used to say that making mistakes is human, insisting is devilish. To be clear. So the project has been suspended? But if there is no project what will be suspended?", said Rama while exchanging remarks with the foreign journalists present.
While one of the journalists told him that the authorities and then the EU ambassador, Silvio Gonzato, had declared it, Rama stated that the project did not exist and had not been canceled.
"The authorities, the ambassadors, have said it," the journalist said.
"The authorities said it? Which one?" the prime minister asked.
"Ambassador Gonzato...", she replied.
"This morning," the journalist replied.
"I don't know what he said. What I know is that there is no project and this is real," the head of government replied.
Rama further told a story about a close and educated friend of his, as he described him, who had told him that with the fence and the agreement with Netanyahu, he had ruined the work.
"I met a friend of mine, a very good man, Muslim, not a fanatic, not at all! He frequented the mosque, I said to him, why are you protesting? He said listen, you know I love you, you know how loyal I am as a friend, I trust you, but with this fence... To implement what Bibi Netanyahu wants, you've gone too far. I said hey, you're talking to me, I'm not social media, they've got your mind on this and you're on this and it's not true, they've got your mind on this," he said.
And to continue the response further, in a discourse related to the journalists' questions, the Prime Minister emphasized that they too had fallen prey to lies.
"You're talking to me, I'm not social media, this has caught your attention and I understand. They have caught your attention, the project canceled, the project suspended, they are repeated on social media and have taken root in your mind, these lies have stuck with you, it is a lie because the project did not exist, it was not approved, you cannot cancel something that has not been approved, you cannot suspend what has not been approved. This is madness, it is not my word against yours, it is madness, facts are needed. You are journalists, you have to find the project and come and say here is your signature, my signature, where is the project", he continued.
As for the journalists' insistence, he replied again that they had no proof or facts, while they were believing in hoaxes on social networks.
"It must be proven, I don't see any evidence or facts, there is no project. I say that the best possible people are working on the project, the best people are also working on the environment, ruin it and then talk, then judge. Don't talk about flamingos. You want proof, you can easily find it, go online, flamingos and people, flamingos with children, with people, walking with people. I tell you, wait and see. I know it's boring, but these are the facts," he said.
