Ahmetaj explodes with strong accusations: Ask Rama about the Sinaloa cartel's casinos

Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has issued serious accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), linking them to the licensing of casinos on behalf of the Mexican Sinaloa cartel and accusing SPAK of a "genocide" against his family.
In a telephone conversation with Çim Peka Live on SYRI TV, asked about the license granted to several Albanian-Mexican citizens, declared "non grata" by the US Treasury Department for money laundering of the Sinaloa cartel, Ahmetaj categorically denied having signed any casino licenses during his time as Minister of Finance. "While I was Minister of Finance, there were no casino licenses. Zero," he declared, addressing the responsibility to the Prime Minister. "Ask Edi Rama," he added, recalling that the Prime Minister had publicly attacked him and warned that he would end up in the hands of justice.
Ahmetaj then harshly criticized SPAK, claiming that this institution has not conducted in-depth investigations into money laundering by criminal organizations. According to him, instead of investigating organized crime “from A to Z,” SPAK is committing “genocide against his family.” “Do these people ever think when they go home that they have destroyed lives without justice?” he asked, implying that he is being unjustly persecuted.
The debate took a different turn when an incident that occurred during a football match was brought to light. It was revealed that SPAK's top brass, including leaders Altin Dumani and Arben Kraja, were present with their families in the stadium's VIP stands. This raised questions about how the prosecutors secured the expensive tickets and the public image they project, appearing relaxed and having fun, while supposedly at the forefront of the fight against crime and corruption.
In this context, it was hypothesized that the persecution of Ahmetaj could be a reaction to his testimonies, which seem to have “disturbed the comfort” of senior officials. According to this reasoning, the public appearance of SPAK leaders at luxurious events and the attacks on Ahmetaj’s family are two sides of the same coin: a system that strikes down anyone who violates its comfort.
