Two missing and one victim from bad weather in Italy

Three apartments collapsed in the Cormons area, near Gorizia in Italy, after heavy rainfall last night.

Italian firefighters confirmed that the collapses were suspected to have been caused by a landslide provoked by powerful storms that have hit the region.

According to authorities, the search continues for two missing people: a minor and an elderly woman. Another person has been pulled alive from the rubble, while unstable terrain is making the operation significantly more difficult.

Meanwhile, the body of Quirin Kuhnert, 32, a German citizen, was found by firefighters. He was swept away by the landslide that hit his home in Brazzano di Cormons, just a few kilometers from the collapse site.

Intense storms in the provinces of Udine and Gorizia have caused flooding, road blockages and the isolation of some areas.
