The mysterious disappearance of the 34-year-old in Tirana, strong suspicions

Five days after the complaint about the disappearance of 34-year-old Eglant Koçi in Tirana, the capital's Police issued an official statement this Tuesday, stating that according to preliminary investigations, there are strong suspicions that the young man may have been kidnapped and then killed. At the center of the investigation are two people, a 41-year-old man who has been declared wanted and a 25-year-old man who has been arrested on suspicion of supporting the perpetrator.

According to official sources, the incident began to take shape immediately after the family reported Koçi missing on June 4. From the very first hours, the police began verifying security cameras and conducting field checks to reconstruct his last movements.

From security footage, the young man was last seen moving from the Wilson Square area towards Jean D'Ark Boulevard. Investigators say he was seen walking near a bar owned by someone he knew, where he never left.

"From this moment on, he loses all trace of his movement ," sources from the investigation team say, adding that camera footage has been key to reconstructing his final route.

According to Tirana Police, analysis of evidence and video footage has raised suspicions that the 34-year-old may have been kidnapped, while Top Channel reports that he may have been later killed by his close friend Armand Shakaj, who has now been declared wanted by the authorities.

According to preliminary investigations, it is suspected that the young man's body may have been transported by vehicle and then disappeared in an as yet unidentified area. The police are continuing their work to fully investigate this incident and to shed more light on the "fate" of the young man and what may have happened to him.

As part of the investigation, 25-year-old Enea Zyferi was also arrested, who is suspected of having witnessed the incident and having helped support the perpetrator after the crime. He was employed as a waiter in a premises owned by the suspect and was near the place where the incident allegedly took place.

One of the elements that has helped investigators is the discovery of the 34-year-old's motorcycle. According to the Police, it is suspected that the vehicle was moved from the area where the incident occurred to the "5 Maji" area, where it was found two days after the disappearance.

A vehicle suspected of being used to transport the 34-year-old was also seized, and blood stains were found on it.

Tirana Police have emphasized that investigations are ongoing and that all leads remain open, including that of the young man's possible activity in the field of cryptocurrencies, which is being verified.

Meanwhile, 41-year-old Armand Shakaj continues to be wanted, while police forces are conducting extensive checks in several areas of the capital and its surroundings to enable his localization and the full clarification of the incident.
