The European Union Delegation in Tirana has reacted to the drone attack by Russia on the compound where the Albanian ambassador resides in Kiev.
In a post on social media, the EU delegation strongly condemned the attack, adding that the life of the Albanian ambassador has been put at risk.
The EU described the attack as "irresponsible" and further evidence of, as it put it, "the brutality of the unprovoked and unjustified war of Russian aggression against Ukraine."
"The European Union delegation condemns in the strongest possible terms the drone and missile attack carried out by Russia overnight on Kiev, which caused several casualties and also hit the residence of the Albanian Ambassador to Ukraine, putting his life at risk.
This irresponsible attack reminds us once again of the brutality of Russia's unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression against Ukraine.
We stand in solidarity with Ukraine and Albania," the response states.
