44 kilograms of cannabis were found at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, two people were arrested by police, suspected of being part of an international criminal group.
According to "Protothema", they attempted to import a quantity of raw hydroponic cannabis (skunk) into Greece, via Athens International Airport.
"Within the framework of the controls aimed at preventing the importation of narcotics into Greece, after using information from the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) of the US Embassy in Athens, as well as through verifications, cross-checks, data analysis and the creation of "profiles" of individuals (profiling), the criminal activity of the two defendants was confirmed," the media informs.
The accused, whose nationality and identity were not released, arrived by plane from a foreign country and were apprehended in the airport's arrivals area, where they were found in possession of 84 packages of cannabis, with a total weight of 44 kilograms, in their luggage, for the purpose of further trafficking.
During the checks carried out, the following were found and seized:
-Raw hydroponic cannabis (skunk) with a total weight of 44 kilograms
-2 mobile phones and 2 suitcases
