The Albanian "executioner" who terrorized Greece/ Who is Alessio

The name of Alessio Xhelo, known as 'Titi', has been linked for years to some of the most serious and infamous cases of the Greek police.

Considered one of the main members of a criminal organization, the Albanian is suspected of being involved in a series of violent activities, including robberies, armed attacks and death contracts, with activities extending from Greece to Cyprus and Albania.

Greek authorities have described him as a ruthless and cold-blooded executioner. One of the most notorious incidents linked to him dates back to 2012, when during a clash with Rapid Intervention Force officers, he allegedly raised an automatic weapon and tried to shoot the police. According to police sources, the incident was averted at the last moment after the weapon jammed.

Investigators have stated that he did not hesitate to use heavy weapons even in residential areas, turning arrest attempts into dangerous operations for law enforcement. His name has also been linked to a violent carjacking in the Kaisariani area, where a chef was killed.

After a long period of absconding, he was located and arrested in Cyprus, to be extradited to Albania. However, despite being placed under house arrest in Fier under police supervision, he managed to escape and return to Greece illegally.

The Greek police spokeswoman also stated that 42-year-old Alessio Xhelo, who was injured yesterday during a clash with Greek police, is wanted in Greece and sentenced to 73 years in prison for serious criminal offenses. According to Greek authorities, he was released in Albania in 2025 and then illegally re-entered Greece in 2026.

In fact, Xhelo was arrested in Vlora in 2019 for illegal possession of weapons, a few months after escaping from a Greek prison. He was then held under "house arrest" in Fier, guarded by the FNSH forces, due to the serious criminal offenses for which he was wanted by the Greek authorities.

The reappearance of the so-called "Titi", i.e. Alessio Xhelo, in Mikrolimano, along with the seized weapons and six grenades found in his bag, has raised new alarm among the authorities and has brought attention back to his criminal activity over the years./ Top Channel
